Zandalee Geldenhuys | CAD Technician

Zandalee has been at Prosound for almost a year, she was previously with SSH Designs in Cape Town. She studied draughting in Stellenbosch at CTU Training Solutions completing a 2-year diploma in Computer Aided Draughting and Design. She then worked in civil engineering and the ICT fields furthering her skill as Rivet Operator. Upon deciding to move to Joburg she was snapped up by Prosound. Zandalee says of Prosound, “the job environment is different by the way that everyone makes you feel like family.” She added that she does not think that she will move back into the engineering realm in a hurry.

Koketso Lamola | Sales

Koketso’s interest in the performing arts started as a youngster, while doing dance and drama. After school she attended TUT where she acquired a diploma in Entertainment Technology – majoring in Sound & Lighting.

After a short stint at St Marys School’s Technical Team – Koketso joined the Prosound Sales team, which is now nearly 3 years ago.  She quickly moved up from an Internal Sales role to a Sales Executive for the company. Koketso is currently studying Project Management at UJ on a part time basis, with a view of joining the Prosound Projects team. “The Kit I like selling is Prosound comms-sets, you can’t go wrong with that sale.”

Thato Tshabangu | Finance Manager

Thato joined Prosound 2 and a half years ago as the Accountant and was promoted into the role of Financial Manager a year ago.

Thato obtained her Bcomm in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg in 2013. Having always had a love for the arts & culture, Prosound has helped bring those passions to the fore again.

Thato’s view of how the company differs, “Unlike in corporate, I’ve had far greater exposure to the company’s moving parts allowing me to fast track my growth and be entrepreneurial in my approach to my job.” “Although a stressful environment, the company culture is not overly rigid or bureaucratic.”

Siphelele “PEPE” Khumalo | Sales

Pepe’s journey to Prosound was inevitable. Growing up in Pietermaritzburg, his family shared their passion for music and dancing with him from a young age.  Partnering up with a few friends, at the age of 15, they started a company by the name of “Music Masters” which provided both PA and DJ’s for School Socials and Discos. After their PA was stolen, he continued on his own, sub-hiring the equipment and DJ’ing himself, in and around his home town.

On completing his schooling, he joined the Academy of Sound Engineering completing a 3-year diploma in Sound Engineering.  In 2013 he joined the Prosound Rental division and a year later he joined the Sales & Technical Support side of the business.

Pepe has a vast technical knowledge on all Prosound products, but he has specialised in the company’s Eurotruss products which include trussing and stage decking systems, he stated that, “This equipment always works. No problems, no comebacks. Clients remain happy for many years after sale of Eurotruss.”

Noxolo Ntelezi | Accounts Payable

After completion of grade 12, having focused on commercial subjects, Noxolo was not sure what direction her life would go. She was taken on by a catering company who supplied waitering services on a part time basis. When she was alerted to the temporary opening at Prosound, she quickly submitted her CV for consideration. After a successful interview she was hired in a temporary capacity, as the receptionist.

Her potential was recognised by Amutha Chetty, the company’s Credit Controller, who took her under her wing as a Finance Admin Assistant. In 2017 she underwent a learnership in Business Administration through The Learning Organisation. On successfully completing this, she was promoted to Accounts Payable Clerk, late last year.

“Prosound is a place for growth and development” Noxolo says. “She was given an opportunity and made the most of it, we are so proud of her achievement thus far and see a bright future ahead for her” comment from Justin Acres, the Financial Director for the company.

The vibrant and energetic Director of Human Resources, Buyiswa Mgedezi  says, “Prosound has made a point of finding a way to develop and grow, not only the youth of the company, but the industry as a whole through our Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives.”
