Noot vir Noot

Noot vir Noot is the longest incessant running television musical game show in the country, reaching episode 400 in November 2007. Rushing towards episode 500, the 32nd series is currently on air on SABC 2, Friday evenings at 19:30. The 22 programs of the new series 33 have been recorded in May 2009 and will air as from October this year.

Having sponsored and hired products for the game show since 2005, Prosound was requested to supply the sound system for the band, singers and speech reinforcements for the contestants as well as the presenter.

A combination of EV Sx300E loudspeakers, Meyer Sound M1D sub bass loudspeaker, Powersoft k-series amplifiers, DPA head-worn microphones, Electro-Voice microphones and Hear Technologies in-ear monitor system for the band were used.

The programs are recorded "live" in front of a studio audience of 150 people. The recording time for Noot vir Noot is almost as long as the actual broadcast time; stops only allow for make-up touch-ups and changes of camera positions. All sound, including presenter, contestants, computer sound, audience and all musical clues and the performance by the guest artist go directly to tape. There is no multi-tracking and no final mixing of these components. The 22 programs per series are recorded in 11 consecutive days in studio 4, Henley Studios, Auckland Park.
