Legendary Afrikaans rockers/industrial band Battery 9 performed a one-off gig at Prosound on the 9th of February. Paul Riekert, the enigmatic front-man of this slightly left-of-centre local band proved they can still pull the punches with a great live performance.

Formed by Paul Riekert in 1995, Battery 9 has cultivated a loyal following of alternative fans across the country. A number of album releases has followed over the years, with their single "Kiss the machine" receiving a fair amount of radio play, taking into consideration the relative conservative play-list mandate of most commercial radio stations!

Paul Riekert is also the kingpin behind One F Music - an independent record label that features a host of local/Afrikaans artists and bands that you will not find under the 'commercial' banner at your local record store! Back to the 9th of February, it was great to see the guys giving their best and providing the small crowd with a great performance, and winning a number of new fans! The PA system was supplied by the Prosound Hire team - and the new Electro-Voice TourX system proved again that it is currently one of the best 'rock-&-roll' systems out there!
